In the fall, I had some lovely new plants added to my garden: (yellow)Esperanza, (purply-blue)Plumbago, and two kinds of ornamental(variegated) ginger plants. They all died from the snow and frost. Ironically, some of the annuals such as salvia, dianthus, silver dust (Dusty Miller) and snapdragons, have all survived repeated nights of below freezing temperatures, while the perennials have not.
